# InforMed Cookie Policy
INFORMED HCP Ltd - informedhub.uk
Version 1.0 - Last updated September 2026
This policy explains what InforMed stores on your device when you use the InforMed website, what it is for, and how to change or remove it. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which covers personal information more broadly.
1. Who we are
INFORMED HCP Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 17093820. ICO registration ZC122097. Contact: admin@informedhub.uk.
2. The short version
We use a small number of cookies and similar browser storage. Essential ones keep the site working and remember the preferences you set. Analytics cookies help us understand what is useful on the site, and they are switched off until you accept them.
We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not sell or share what we store with advertisers or data brokers. Nothing we store is used to build a marketing profile of you.
3. What cookies and browser storage are
A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store, which is sent back to the site on later visits. Local storage is similar, but stays on your device and is not transmitted back to us. We use both, and this policy covers both.
4. Your choices
When you first visit informedhub.uk we show a banner with two options:
- Essential only - we set nothing beyond what is strictly necessary and your appearance preference. No analytics.
- Accept all - you additionally consent to analytics cookies.
We remember your choice so we do not ask again on every visit. You can change your mind at any time by clearing site data for informedhub.uk in your browser, which will bring the banner back, or by using the cookie settings link in the footer where available.
Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, strictly necessary cookies do not require your consent. Everything else does, which is why analytics stays off until you choose otherwise.
5. What we store
Strictly necessary - always on
- Cookie consent record. Remembers whether you chose "Essential only" or "Accept all" so we do not ask on every page. Stored in local storage until you clear site data.
- Security and load balancing. Set by our hosting provider to keep the site available and protect against abuse. A cookie lasting either the session or up to 12 months.
- Sign-in session. If you sign in to an administrator account, this keeps you signed in and protects the session. A session cookie. Ordinary visitors and members never sign in on the website, so it does not apply to them.
- Form protection. Guards the "register my interest" form against automated abuse. A session cookie.
Preferences - always on, set by you
- Appearance preference. Remembers your light or dark mode choice so the site does not reset each visit. Stored in local storage until you clear site data.
- Announcement dismissal. Remembers that you closed the announcement bar at the top of the page. Stored in local storage until you clear site data.
Analytics - only if you accept
- Site analytics. Tells us which pages are visited and how people move through the site, so we can improve it. We look at this in aggregate and do not use it to identify you individually. Cookies lasting up to 13 months.
We do not use these cookies for advertising, retargeting or cross-site tracking.
6. Third parties
Our website is hosted and served by third-party providers who may set strictly necessary cookies as described above. If you accept analytics, our analytics provider sets cookies on our behalf and processes the data under our instructions. Links from our site to the App Store, Google Play and LinkedIn take you to services with their own cookie policies, which we do not control.
7. The mobile app
This policy covers the website only. The InforMed mobile app does not use cookies. Information handled inside the app is covered by our Privacy Policy.
8. How to remove cookies
You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings, or browse in a private window. Doing so will reset your appearance preference, bring back the announcement bar and the consent banner, and may sign you out of an administrator session. No personal information is lost, because none is held in your browser.
Guidance for each major browser is available in its own help pages, and the ICO publishes general guidance at ico.org.uk.
9. Changes to this policy
If we begin using any additional cookies or storage, we will update this page and change the date above before doing so. If a new use requires your consent, we will ask for it rather than relying on this page.
10. Contact and complaints
Questions about this policy: admin@informedhub.uk.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
